Doug Aitken 'SONG 1'

Doug Aitken – “SONG 1” (Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C.)

As motion designer on this landmark installation with visionary artist Doug Aitken, I helped bring one of the world’s largest moving-image artworks to life—a 360° projection wrapped around the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C.

The piece featured performances by cultural icons including Tilda Swinton, James Murphy, and others, transforming the museum’s architecture into a living canvas of sound, light, and motion. It remains one of the most ambitious public art installations ever mounted in the U.S.

“Doug Aitken is an artist who defies definitions of genre. He explores every medium, from film and installations to architectural interventions. His artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world,

in such institutions as the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modern Art, the Vienna Secession, the Serpentine Gallery, and the Centre Georges Pompidou.”
